Autauga County Commission Honors Abigail Hirota as the 2027 Distinguished Young Woman of Autauga County
During its September 1, 2026, meeting, the Autauga County Commission presented a resolution honoring Abigail Hirota as the 2027 Distinguished Young Woman of Autauga County.
Abigail, a senior at Prattville High School and the daughter of Christian and Shannon Hirota, earned the honor on July 11, 2026. She will represent her school, her family and the citizens of Autauga County at the Distinguished Young Women of Alabama State Program, scheduled for January 22–23, 2027, in Montgomery.
Twelve outstanding young women participated in the 2026 Autauga County program, with more than $12,000 in scholarships awarded. Abigail received $4,000 in scholarships in recognition of her preparation, perseverance, poise and all-around excellence.
Following graduation from Prattville High School, Abigail plans to attend Auburn University and aspires to become a pediatric dentist. Her educational goals, bright sense of purpose, admirable ambition and compassionate desire to serve children reflect the very best of Autauga County’s young people.
The Autauga County Commission congratulates Abigail on this outstanding achievement and extends its best wishes as she prepares for the state competition. All of Autauga County will be cheering her on as she represents our community at the Distinguished Young Women of Alabama State Program.
